re-establishing my itunes data onto my laptop is pretty much letting my perfectionist tendencies run wild, making sure to properly capitalise titles, synchronise artists/albums, add album covers and track numbers and years and genres, so on. it's a slow on-going process, and only yesterday did i finally reach my tenimyu folder. i wasn't even going to add the songs/videos back on, since i disconnected with the entire fandom about... two years ago? but i decided to listen to some tracks that i used to like a lot and... i was completely surprised when i easily slipped into singing along like i used to, and that i still remember all the lyrics.
(i guess the analogy would be something like... if you knew how to swim, then it doesn't matter how long you've stayed dry; the movements just naturally come to you once you're thrown into the water. okay, it might be a far stretch, but i was a little impressed with myself, seeing how long it has been since i last invested in the fandom... or even spoke the language, tbqh.)
i give myself a little pat on the back for not deleting all my tenimyu songs/videos back then, because i really feel like revisiting my first 3D fandom right now. also, after this period of intense searching for k-fic, i'm also taking a break and turning to reading character/pairing meta from good writers in the fandom. they don't happen very often, or with public access at least, but i have read a lot of interesting ones (and it makes me so happy when i see metas for rarepairs that i thought no one but me inactively shipped.)
my room is in it for a huge clean-up, so hopefully i can get it done by sunday, because next week is o-week and once uni starts, it's going to be the commencement of another slow accumulation of sheets and books and folders, and i just got myself a new printer in my room which has usurped desk-space originally assigned to other essential things.
now that we won't be issued student bus cards anymore, i have to use up one concession card each week because i have classes on all five days, unless, of course, i walk to uni. i can walk to uni on wednesdays and thursdays (without having to wake early), and walk back home on all days except wednesday. it'll probably take 40 to 60 minutes if i walk at a normal pace... anyway, good exercise and good economisation, now all i need is some motivation to get me started.
