The girl next to me in the computer cluster just said Lame-Sauce. It made me giggle.

I've been reading The Language of God -- the book by Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project and who I saw at the Veritas Forum. It's such a good book. I really wish I had read this and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis a long time ago. That should've been required reading when I went to Jesus Chapel. Actually... false. It probably would've grated people the wrong way. Still, it's an amazing book and helped me solidify just exactly what I believe. You know how you could believe something but be a little vague on how it all fits together? This book takes the time to go through every motion. I even read the Time article on God vs. Science with a debate between Francis Collins and Richard Dawkins. It's really interesting. If you're curious, you can read it by clicking here

So Eric, where have you been and why did you decide to blog now?! One question at a time, please.
Ok, where have you been? Busy as --expletive-- (Take your pick, although some expletives fit better than others). I suck at life at algorithms. Well... so not really. Mostly I sucked at life on the p-sets because I didn't have enough time for them because I was in a play that took up 5 hrs/day for two weeks. It was -- get out of school/work at 5. Eat dinner till 6. 6-11PM rehearsal or performance. Work on my 6.005 project with my partner 11-2a.m., then work on all my problem sets. Then start over.

It sucked. HOWEVER, I finished the play and my classes upped the work so I've been almost as busy anyways. Things have been much better recently (see last week and this week). That's because this is the last week of school. Technically, I still have a p-set in 6.02. but it's optional so I probably won't finish that until after school ends. My 6.005 project is due tomorrow so today will be a long coding session with a my partners. 6.006 is done except for the final which I need to pwn on. 21F.702 is pretty much done except I have an oral presentation I have to give on Wednesday.

Other than that, I'm heading home the day after my last final and will visit for about a month. So if you're in el paso, you need to give me a call. Especially since I probably don't have your phone number anymore since I broke my other phone in two.

When I come back to MIT, I'll be working in CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) with the SLS (Spoken Language Systems group) on a lecture browser -- sort of a search engine for video. http://web.sls.csail.mit.edu/lectures/ My part of the project will be to decrease the error of wrong words that the computer generates probably by adding a sort of wiki-style user-based response. Maybe a user could be watching a lecture, notice a wrong word... click it and almost instantaneously the word corrects itself by running itself through the speech-to-text app and dismissing the word that it was originally. If that doesn't work, maybe clicking on a word would give a list of alternatives that it may have been. It should be fun and easy to handle. I'm looking forward to a stress-free summer.

We had a formal at the house the other day. It was hilarious... Our social chairs invited an R-rated hypnotist. I couldn't believe some of the stuff that my friends did on stage. Good times, :-P.

Still haven't seen Iron Man. :-( Hopefully this weekend. This is the first time I don't have four finals and I'm gonna try to take a advantage of it a little bit.

Alright, that's all.

WAIT! I had two questions, remember?!?! Oh, right. So? I don't remember the question. Why did you decide to blog? Oh snap! How could I have forgotten. The whole reason is cuz I wanted to wish my best friend's sister a happy birthday.

Happy Birthday, Candace!!
