I'm Bored. Its 5am and I have no one to talk to.....Why doesn't anyone else keep the same sleep schedule as me?
Guess thats an easy one to figure out, Everyone else has real jobs or school or otherwise enjoy a social life that ends at 2am.
But what can you do right? I've been on the same sleep schedule for as long as I can remember, grew up in germany and as soon as we moved back to the states I couldn't stay awake at school and I never wanted to go to bed at 9pm on a school night, not that most kids did anyhow, But I'd be awake in bed until 4am normally, spend most the day napping my way through classes, which greatly offends the teachers to no end- I always got low grades, mostly because I HATE homework...All my teachers gave the same two comments, A Pleasure to have in class, Does not turn in homework. Go figure, but the thing all my teachers kept talking to me about were my test grades, A+'s without fail....nothing special there, It not that I don't learn or study, I just hate doing schoolwork at home... "Why is it you do so well on tests but you'll never turn in assignments?" It took every moral fiber I had not to ask them "Why do you have us read all day and then give us all the work to take home and do instead of Teaching all day and asking us to read up a bit at home?" That my line of though, I'd rather have something Taught in school then read all day and not understand it when I go home to do the work and ask my parents to help me with math problems they were never taught in school... I learned to speed read when I was in germany, while other kids were sounding out words like monopoly I was reading Edgar Allan Poe and Shakespeare to pass the time... This is second grade, being able to speed read at two pages a min with 80% retention isn't something the teachers will even acknowledge, let alone believe-"Why aren't you reading the assignment?" "I did already" "No you didn't now you open that book and start reading before I send you to the principals office, again." Blarg! I hated that more then anything, teacher who can't phatom a child being able to read faster then they can...I live in germany for gods sakes, theres one american channel and never any cartoons on, what else did I have to do but sit and read books?...Go play with the other kids? Who spoke german and would beat the crap outa me for not answering their questions in german? oi no thanks... I mean you try going to a park seeing a bunch of kids playing what looks like freeze tag and trying to ask if you can play...it just doesn't go over too well
I can ramble with the best of them, where was this one going? oh yes my sleeping habits...umm Yeah so I've gotten into working graveyard jobs and such makes it much easier on the mind, I just walk around like a zombie from the hours of 6am to 4pm, after that I'm completely awake and will be until 4am....Everyone I talk to just says once you get into the habit of a routine sleep schedule it just resets your internal clock to where you won't have these problems with it, but that doesn't work for me. I'm manic bipolar, and if I'm not sleeping at certain hours my body will dump mass quantities of junk into my system sending me through the roof like a meth addict who just had two condoms of crack pop in his stomach...not a pretty sight- through out high school I had 3 instances where I didn't sleep for literally 2 weeks solid, no joking here I was on a nice diet, no sugar or stimulant intakes, just hot oatmeal for breakfast, school lunch, and moms home cooking for dinner....now if anyone has ever been awake for oh...say 3 days straight, you'll understand where I'm going here, Sanity is a hot commodity after about the 4th day, after 3 days without sleep you are legally insane by all legal standards.(Never tell a cop that you are "Just tired cause you haven't slept for a couple days" they will ticket you for reckless driving.) I just can't figure for the life of me why everyones so upbeat about sleeping from 12am to 8am I mean sure, you get to be active with all the other people of the world, but damnit, the sunlight hurts my eyes and its always so much nicer to walk around under the stars. If you get up at 3pm you still have time to cash checks hit banks and all your worldly needs then you've got the entire night ahead of you. I mean, As much as I'd enjoy sitting in stop and go traffic on the way to and from work, I quite like driving on empty roads at 3am, doing the speed limit every time you're out on the highway instead of getting stuck behind an old lady swerving in and out of two lanes the entire way to work at 45 in a 65 is not how I like to start a day;) and besides that all the interesting people are awake during my hours anyhow...
