Wow
Happiness? Yeah, you can call this Happiness. Or awed amazement, glee, excitement, hope, well being, or ecstasy. You know, all those things we democrats haven't felt on election nights for the last 8 years.
I am awed and grateful to have seen this day. It's been a long long time coming, and many many brave people have fought hard for it. At this moment I am humbled by their lives, and their accomplishment. This is their night, and a night on which all of us should be proud. We witnessed something amazing, and we not only witnessed it, we were part of it.
The world I will wake up in tomorrow will seem much the same as the one I woke up to today, but it won't be. It will be a better place, a more hopeful place, and one rift that has torn us apart will be that much closer to being healed. I am so pleased to have had the chance to be a part of it.
