Userpic ON and username OFF on entries

Problem/Question: I wanted to remove the username below the userpic on the main page because it sort of went in the way with the text of the post, but removed only the userpic instead. When I finally figured how not to show the username, I tried to make the userpic appear again, because as you can see from the picture now there's an unaesthetic blank space next to the title (where the userpic's supposed to be).
Can someone tell me exactly how to show the userpic on the entries but NOT the username? thanks
