As sappy as he knows it sounds, she's beautiful when she's asleep. (161)
A/N: Just something short and sappy, inspired by Aerosmith's 'Don't Wanna Miss a Thing'. Un-beta'd, so please be kind :)
Her breathing is even, a constant, soothing movement. He slides into bed next to her, moving slowly and gently, so he doesn't wake her.
As sappy as he knows it sounds, she's beautiful when she's asleep. Every line, whether from worry or laughter, is erased, leaving her face smooth and innocent. Her long eyelashes flutter, and he can see her eyes moving behind the lids, and for one brief second, he wonders if she could possibly be dreaming about him.
He settles into the soft, white sheets, curling up behind her, their bodies both clicking together as she unconsciously moves closer to him. She's warm, and soft, her matching navy blue camisole and boy shorts smell freshly washed, and her hair smells of what he can only identify as pure Rose, it's what she's always smelt like.
He brushes a golden strand of hair from her mouth, and brushes his lips against hers, before falling into a dreamless sleep beside her.
