do trees remember when they were seeds?

I've been trying to learn how to sightread, and today I found a beginner's piano book somewhere in a long-forgotten cranny. After playing, slowly and badly, the pieces on the first few pages, I remembered that this was the book I used when I was six, and was sent unwillingly to piano lessons. There was one piece called "The Lonely Pine" which was one of the only pieces that lacked cheesy rhyming lyrics, or any lyrics at all. At six, lonely myself, I thought it was achingly pretty.
Now, almost a decade later, as I remember what squiggly dots connect to what pretty noises, I play the chords, the notes, and realize that "The Lonely Pine" is just as haunting and pretty as it was in my memories.
Dah, dah, dah, dah-daaaaah...

a moment of exquisite truth, remembrances of times gone past, mint is rambling
