Mom, Kra is on crack again!

well, the cover art for the new Kra album is out, you know the one, Life ~Today is a very good day to Die~

the one with the title that makes me question my fandom cringe a little every time I see it.  >_>  it's not that it's bad... it just sounds so cliche.  & Kra is not cliche; anything but.  arg.

well, Life just got worse.

the first one is the Limited CD+DVD edition & the one with the close-up of the baby is the regular edition.  (._.)  I understand what they're going for, and the relationship between the images & the title; it makes perfect sense.... however...  meh...

between the two, I like the limited one better (lucky for me) & I'm getting that one... but they're... not great covers.  at all.  the pictures are nice & everything, but they don't look like Kra at all - there's none of the whimsy or magic or ... spunk that is usually associated with their image.  This looks like it could be for any run of the mill average band.  It certainly wouldn't make me pick it up in the store & buy it without knowing anything about the band; it doesn't draw me in.  I mean, I love kids & babies & he/she is absolutely adorable... it just seems an odd choice for their album cover.

I think the second one just looks wierd to me... & I think it's because of the placement of the circle with the title - it's like the man's fingers are sticking out at the bottom & it's distracting to me, compositionally.  eh, anyway.  I guess I just feel like the image comes across as cliche, just like the title, & that is not representative of Kra and their music.  They're too creative for this.

maybe once I actually get it & can inspect it more closely, I'll like it more.  I'm hopeful.  It is Kra after all.

music, fangirl is me, pics, kra
