Dear friends of Kelly,
I am Kelly's personal care attendant and friend Leah. I am writing on behalf of Kelly's family to let you all know that Kelly passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003.
She, as you all know, was an amazing woman. She possessed incredible strength, grace, spirit and wit. Her final weeks Kelly was still maintaining much of her independence and able to be alone in her own home. She only needed 3 day's of 24 hour care and was blessed with her wish of dying in her own home.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday she slept almost constantly. She was comfortable and pain free. She passed away at 2:15 pm in the presence of her mom, dad, brother, myself and her hospice nurse. Her final hour was a great evidence of her warior spirit. She battled on through the very end. At her weakest, she was an inspiration of strength.
I've been reading through her journals and your post's as I've been finishing her project of printing out all of her journal entries for her dad. I want to thank each of you for all of your love, support and prayers. Kelly really appreciated the support she recieved online from all of you. She was always so saddened that journaling and reading posts had become so difficult for her in her final months. She missed having this as her outlet and support family. I thank you all for your faithfulness to her.
