Tbh, I don't listen to her music but what I do love about her is that she has the body of a normal woman and she doesn't take crap about that from anyone. She seems to be so comfortable in her own skin and I think that's great. ;)
Btw, I hope that difficult time you went through is over. *hugs*
Seriously. No matter her weight, she always has curves! You'd be surprised how excited I get when female celebrities have curves. But that is so not the norm/in fashion right now
( ... )
Just for the record, word to everything you say about Katee. I felt the same way when I discovered BSG and saw Kara (I am a curvy girl too, and damn proud of it! :D).
I completely agree. I love when women that look "real" (not like super skinny supermodels, that so unnatural and unhealthy) are treated like the object of desire. That's how it should always be. ;)
Actually, I wanted to be a marine biologist too. Took classes in college and everything. Some of the best times. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to go to school for that. Plus, I don't know how I feel about being out away from everything on a boat for months at a time in nasty weather conditions and groveling for research grants.
*sigh*
But who knows? Maybe someday, I'll still do it....
Oh yes, marine biologists are sexy. Haha. This is why I love living in LA. There's the Long Beach Aquarium which is just down the freeway from my place of employment and I love to go there. Plus, there's a free aquarium up the street in San Pedro which is really small, but really great place to be. I like to go there when I'm feeling super terribly upset. It's nestled in a nice little cove where our marine bio class in college would go out and collect live specimens. The class itself was SUPER fun and SUPER hard. We started w/ 60 students and it ended up with only 15 or so. BRUTAL.
I really should go back to school. (ugh, can you imagine?)
Yes! Kelly Clarkson is awesome! I love her voice and the fact that she seems to not care at all about typical beauty standards for women --all this women obsession with weight gets on my nerves, really. It is incredible how much all this social pressure can influence us --me included, btw.
I honestly think she either truly doesn't care or just does an excellent job of acting like it. She rocks very hard in my book for that.
And I know just what you mean, I try not to let the weight thing get to me. But when everywhere I look, I'm being told I'm not thin enough-it does get frustrating.

I didn't take classes. Alas, my "experience" went as far as me begging to go to Seaworld every summer for vaca. LOL (Oh, and I still do, hah!)
