Yesterday I stayed in school from 5:30 till about 8:00 to take pictures of the Chinese New Year Party for the yearbook. I got in for free because of my press pass. :) Okay, well not really...I got in for free because I was there on yearbook business. I wish I had gotten some free food. I saw William there so I sat with him. There were A LOT of people at the party. I thought it was kinda weird because practically all of the girls there were dressed up. It's so weird because some of the people who I never thought of as girly, had on their best clothes. All the girls were in skirts, dresses and heels. One girl looked like she was going to prom or her own wedding...It was so weird.

They had games where the guys and girls were separated and they were given clues to guess Chinese characters. Then they had this thing where you pull out red envelopes from a purple box. Some girl got $50..lucky ass. Then there was this other game where 3 boys and 3 girls had to give a rose to someone in the crowd and you had to kiss them on the cheek. This one girl kissed some boy on the cheek and gave him the rose, and she ran for her life afterwards. I don't know why she was so embarrassed. Then they put techno on and everyone started dancing. Chinese people can't really dance, but I already knew this. A lot of them did this strange butt wiggle or jumped up and down with their glow sticks. Then again I shouldn't really be talking since I'm not a very good dancer either. I kept trying to persuade William to ask a girl to dance but he said he was too shy. Then I saw this girl at the dance who I knew from Jr.High who doesn't even go to Dewey. She was bumping and grinding with some guy. She got pregnant her freshman year of H.S..aye..memories.

Yeah so I was bored most of the time and I didn't understand a lot of the things they were saying in Chinese which is pretty sad. I felt out of place most of the time but I guess it was kind of good that I went. I wish my Chinese was better and I wish had more Chinese or Asian friends. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends..You all know what I'm trying to say.
