Album: Tribute to L'Arc~en~Ciel

Jun 15, 2012 10:05

Been listening to this album since yesterday.
Well, a tribute is a tribute.
I'm not going to go as far as comparing the quality to the original musician (which is Laruku), I just enjoy this album for being as it is. :)
Some songs sound totally different with the original one. I was shocked when I heard Clementine's version of my favorite song "Flower", but then, hey--it's creativity! That's the fun part of listening to tribute song. The French lyric gives a quite big impact. On a second thought this version might suit Chobit's image. :3

So far I like Vince Neil's "Blurry Eyes", Boyz II Men's "Snow Drop", Daniel Powter's "Stay Away", TLC's "Rainbow" (Niji) aaaand... Hemenway's "Caress of Venus" grew on me--the trilingual effect is daebak-great-sugoi (yes it contains Korean-English-Japanese language ^^). Ah wait, Totalfat's "Driver's High" and Michael Monroe's "Heaven's Drive" sound fun as well. :D

The others are not bad either. I didn't mention SID's "Shout at the Devil" but doesn't mean it's bad. The impact isn't as great as those I mentioned above; but it sounds pretty nice. Polysics' "Seventh Heaven" is kinda interesting, I must say--cute. On the other hand, Maxi Priest's "Vivid Colors" is totally different! I even forgot how the original song sounds like, while listening to Priest's version. xD

Here is the tracklist (taken from CDJapan):
