Regarding Morimoto Ryutaro
OK. I don't make public entries about my fandom so often, but this time, considering what has happened out there regarding Hey!Say!JUMP's Morimoto Ryutaro's issue, I decided to make this public entry so maybe if someone googling "Morimoto Ryutaro scandal", they might find this post and read it. Or not. But in case.
First, all HSJ & Ryutaro's fans, we all knew what's going on in the fandom right now and what kind of scandal the young boy made.
I'm glad some of us have united to express our support to Ryutaro-kun, for example via Twitter. #supporthsjryutaro became trending topic in Indonesia and Philippines, as far as I know, although not yet worldwide. There are things that need to be pointed out, though:
[] IT'S NOT NECESSARY TO TWEET / HOWL / CRY OUT LOUD ASKING JOHNNY & ASSOCIATES TO CANCEL RYUTARO'S SUSPENSION.
Why? Because the boy is indeed guilty. He made mistake. Yes, he bravely admitted it to the whole nation like a real man and hell I'm so proud of him, but he still needs to be punished. No matter how many oceans you would swim through to show how deep your love for him, smoking underage is against the law. Not to mention, the management is so strict about this.
[] WHAT WE SUPPORT IS FOR RYUTARO-KUN TO PROPERLY LEARN FROM HIS MISTAKE AND NOT TO GIVE UP ON BOTH HIS LIFE & CAREER. WE HOPE & PRAY FOR HIM TO BE ALLOWED TO COMEBACK AS HEY!SAY!JUMP MEMBER AFTER JOHNNY & ASSOCIATES DECIDE TO END HIS SUSPENSION. We show our respect to him because a person shouldn't be judged only by their mistake and Ryutaro-kun has a lot more good traits as a person that shouldn't be forgotten.
There is even a petition supporting Ryutaro-kun out there, aiming to reach Johnny & Associates. Being half dreamer & half realist I am, personally I don't 100% think that the petition will work but I signed it anyway. I signed it with full awareness that it MIGHT NOT reach Johnny & Associates; or even though it reaches them, it might not affect any decision that the management would make upon Ryutaro-kun. But I don't want to regret doing nothing so I signed it. That's my policy.
ONE IMPORTANT POINT, AGAIN, I SIGNED THE PETITION NOT BECAUSE I WANT THEM TO CANCEL RYUTARO'S SUSPENSION. I just want to convey the fact that a lot of people are waiting for Ryutaro-kun to comeback as Hey!Say!JUMP member, and how important it is for fans to see HSJ with complete 10 members (my LJ header says it all).
I also heard from hey_say's moderator about fans who went too far and sent a bunch of messages to ex-Johnny's talents to help them asking the management to make Ryutaro comeback. That kind of action is just NOT right. Please respect other people who are unrelated to this case. Just because they once worked under Johnny & Associates and they happen to have social media account, doesn't mean they can be dragged along to this matter. Let's think and act maturely.
Lastly, there are a lot of rumors including some conspiracy theory about this (YOU KNOW WHICH THEORY, I'm not gonna mention). It's not a very pleasant thing to be comprehended. So, if you really want to support Hey!Say!JUMP, it would be wiser if you don't spread bad rumors & conspiracy theory that will freak everyone's pants out, because it might affect HSJ's image and sales. After all, fans have already heard enough painful things, don't you think.
