Birthday and Blogaversary
I completely forgot to mention that yesterday was also my five year LJ-versary. Congradulations, me! You've been annoying people on LJ for five years and still only about four people read your blog. (Don't worry, I like it that way.)
Yesterday was pretty awesome. I found a birthday card from Pol's best friend in the mail, which is impressive, because she's been on holiday in the tropics for about two weeks and the card is from Holland. Class ended early, so I was able to see Pol and Gandalf way sooner than planned. They brought me some groceries that I can't seem to find around here (like small cans of soup) and PRESENTS. I got a large piece of lino (which they actually found while I was calling them about class ending early) and driving lessons for my birthday from my parents, a hilarious card from our next door neighbour and a nice card and money from Granny.
We went into town and walked around for a bit. Pol actually showed me the awesome (four floor) arts and crafts shop where she found my lino. We went to the Lush, where Gandalf took one step inside, went: 'Ough!' at the smell and fled. I got some great new scrub for my face, though. My old one is nearly gone, and this one is supposed to be its 'evil twin'. It looks evil too, it has charcoal in it and is pitch black! I looked like a reverse raccoon when I tried the stuff out last night.
Then we walked around for a while, enjoyed the sun and had some dinner in town. For dessert, we went to Australian Icecream, which is always fun.
Tomorrow I'm having my school-friends over for cake and snacks and drinks. According to the news, there is a 90% chance of rain, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the other 10%. I want to sit in the garden, dammit!
