A note on Books and Travel, by Inny Toes:
Why, why, why are there always peverted sex-filled scenes in my book when there are elderly people sitting across or next to me? There was a man rubbing himself against a nine year old on his lap! There were 10 year olds dry-humping each other! There were mentions of 'wiener licking'! Augh!
It's still a really good book, though.
Anyway, It's the start of the new term today, and while I can't say I'm very happy or excited to start everything up again, I am content. I'm back in my regular schedule of school-travel, I have a well-stocked pantry again (and am plotting to cook chicken curry this week) and I can start counting down to the next big holiday, Christmas!
I had my first Spanish Translation lesson of the new term and thankfully I have a new teacher. She's a native speaker from Spain, and her Dutch isn't very good. The lessons are entirely in Spanish, which is pretty intense (but at least she talks slowly, which our last teacher never did, and she wasn't even a native speaker.) So while the material will be a lot harder, perhaps the lessons won't be so bad, with this new teacher. We even got explainations and- dare I say- answers out of her!
Also, this term we're starting 'Dutch for translators', which I desperately need. ... Though it will probably mess up my English, like Spanish has. (Ever since the llevar-traer issue I haven't been able to use bring-take properly.) Sadly, the teacher giving the class is absolute crap, and doesn't really teach as much as tell long, rambling anecdotes twenty times and hand out answer-sheets at the end of the course.
Now all I want is my exam grades.
