Finimal C is gross. Effective, but gross.

Who has two thumbs and managed to get sick in 20 degree weather? THIS GIRL!

Between the airconditioning and the hot weather, I have managed to get a minor cold/flu/achey-ness and sore throat. It doesn't help that my dormroom is freezing, because the windows never ever catch the sun and the landlady turns off the heat when it gets warmer. Which is fine, but I can't get it at a decent temperature in my room.

So I am very fashionably sitting behind my laptop with a hot water bottle, a scarf and a tanktop-sweater-vest combo. I downed a Finimal C tablet (Inny-endorsement: the stuff makes me go 'urgh' every time, but man, that shiz works. Top tip: put it in minimal water and apply large dose of squash/koolaid/lemonade-sirop) and after I do the dishes and make myself lunch like a grownup, I am sliding under the covers to hide from the world.

The translation bureau Simulation is going well, though. It is very fun to hang out with my classmates and berate the people who come into our 'office' looking for a computer when there are four signs on the door saying the room is reserved. (Seriously? You missed the large sign at eye level saying 'Translation Bureau, RESERVED', the one next to the doorknob saying 'RESERVED FOR THE VA' and the two large ones saying 'Simulation Company' or whatever?) The funny thing is, they only try it with the very full, no-computers-free office, not the nearly empty one with our six managers and two or three translators.

I started off with a very cool English to Dutch text about the interior of a Cathedral. My art history classes were good for something! Lots of looking up what the various fiddley architecture things are called, and also translations for Christian Things. It's challenging but not boring.

Also, word has gotten around that my English is way better than my Dutch, because I also got two 'quick can you do this' revisions for translations into English today. It helps to have friends in management.
