personality development ::

Hanging a lot around Red at a young age, she got a personality that made her more outgoing by appearance to Red's more subtle ways (though still a punk at heart amiright reimi), but living in a close-knitted situation with familiar faces always around, when she actually took to travelling, this so natural side of her actually took a long while to become comfortable and form outside of the town she grew up in.

Travelling was always something spoken about, but she had no idea to go and do it when until finally Red had left on his own Pokemon adventure. When in childhood the friendship between Red and Green fizzled and Red took more of an interest in Pokemon, Leaf was there to join in on the interest. It wasn't just something she took to because her cousin did, however, actually finding an interest in it, but not knowing how far it would go. Would they really become trainers? Leaf had no idea the day would come when Red would go off on his own for adventure.

This would be a good place (maybe) to point out that while Leaf acted like the older figure, probably seeing herself as someone to make the decisions, she never really did. A lot of her longer life, she went along with what Red wanted to do and kept to that safe bubble. Sure, she'd play his games and decide some of the things like that, but if Red wanted to go and do something, they'd go to do it. It's not until her own adventure and sticking by herself that Leaf begins to learn more about herself and becoming her own person.

okay maybe that wasn't a good place to put that. Let's talk about her travels. Keeping some to the dialogue in the game that points out here and there as the player being a quiet person, I figured, in a way to keep it, that out there in the world, Leaf was at first self-conscious and on guard. There was sitll an 'OH WOW I'm really doing this who would believe it!', but coming up to other people, she was so unsure of what it meant to be a trainer. Thankfully, everyone else seemed to point her in the way to gyms and everywhere. Beating gym leaders and raising Pokemon! That was it! But it took her some time to get used to this, still getting jumpy at the times over how a look at a person gets you in a battle!

Still, here she was only going along with what she thought she should do-- going along the decisions of what made a trainer by the thoughts of everyone else. She had fun, sure, and she was becoming more and more attached to the Pokemon she caught and trained with. She got into the Pokemon battles, but once she had beaten all the gym leaders and the next goal was to go to the Elite Four, she couldn't decide. Was that what she really wanted? She loved going against the gym leaders and all the trainers in the end, but faced with the next step...

Leaf made up a lot of excuses to keep herself going along the route to the Elite Four. It's what trainers do! Red and Green had both beaten the gym leaders and would be heading there! Red needed to get his butt kicked in! But in the end before she got too far, she ended up turning around. If it was a show, this is where we'd all be saying it's her first big decision for herself.

But now she wasn't sure what to do. What do you go and do when you can't figure what to do? The answer soon took her home back to Pallet Town to sulk around at home, much to the delight of the mother who had missed her. It didn't take long in that time for Green to become champion to then be upsupred by Red.

Staying at home just didn't have the same appeal as it did before she became trainer. She became unrelaxed at home and fidgety, finding herself doing nothing but lazing in her room boredly on most days. Soon enough, a realisation to her: she really missed getting out her Pokemon, getting in battles and travelling to far and new places.

And they missed it, too. After two weeks of being around in Palett Town, Leaf had her things packed up to start on her adventure again.

tl;dr Leaf went on a journey of fun and self-discovery and decided that she likes small competitions but too competitive ones don't interest her. cousin complex

adventure development ::

Took her time to get used to it. She had some knowledge on Pokemon, but didn't think she had enough. Had two Pokemon up to Vermillion City (exluding Magikarp). Got a little more confident up to here. Not yet used to people jumping out from corners on her.

Magikarp -- said no to the salesman and then yes.

Berry expert -- said no to having an interest and then yes.

Bill -- said yes to helping him.

Team Rocket -- refused to join them (not that it's optional).

DOESN'T SNEAK UP ON HALF THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE THAT SNEAK UP ON HER SAYING SHE WANTED TO BATTLE.

Did not get a fossil.

Said no to collecting Pokemon data (since isn't going around for Professor Oak).

Soooo went to the S.S Anne! A cruise ship? Yes please! It was here that she definitely initiated a lot of the battles because she got bored herself. It's here where she starts showing more eagerness for battling (probably because she had the breather to do it all herself).

'...Ah! Le strong silent type!' -- said by waiter.

Really liked the sailors. It was here that she decided to get more than three Pokemon.

Rubbed the Captain's back. :( It's best for seasickness!

Spent ages trying to decide on her fourth Pokemon. Later got a Meowth and Bellsprout.

1. What do you know about this character now that she doesn’t yet know?

Her determination to win is kind of all over the place right now, but most of all what she's trying to do is to travel to become tough enough to win and beat her cousin. :| YOU NEED A WHOOPING, CHOCO. More than that, though, Red is someone she's always been close and always tried putting herself a little higher-- she considers herself the eldest of the two and the one who should try to be the better, even if he does or doesn't see her that way.

For that reason, she wants to give it her best when she meets Kanto's champion.

So she actually is competitive, but also... takes it a little easy? It's only for the things that she decides will help her become a better trainer. Honestly, she doesn't care about stuff where she has to defend a title, but competitions you can enter to try and get first place once are fine.

2. What is this character’s greatest flaw?

She still needs to learn to stop doubting her own decisions. She doesn't have a big self-doubt in herself, but she's never been good knowing the right answer to things if it isn't so obvious or over herself. I bet she used to be the kind of person who would eat out at the same place because it never made her have to choose (even though she always wanted to try something new).

Leaf has been trying to become better at fixing this, trying to become more decisive, but it's still there and needing to be fixed.

What do you know about this character that s/he would never admit?

So jealous that Red became the champion and actually did go through and beat the Elite Four to get there! It's more because she didn't go and do it herself, but she reasons this to herself by saying she did start a little later than him and Blue (but not by much). It's a good excuse!

Also, that the reason she can be slow in speaking to new people/when being approach/takes her time walking around is because the whole 'you see, you battle' rule of being a trainer. She doesn't have anything against battles, but she never really got used to how sudden it all is. SHE WOULD LOOK AROUND CORNERS SLOWLY IF IT WASN'T TOO WEIRD. ;;

Whom does this character most wish to please? Why?

Describe this character’s mother.

A really kind woman who took well of Leaf.

Describe this character’s father.

Leaf isn't described as having a father, so we'll go with that she doesn't have one. She's probably heard of him and I'm thinking he would go to work abroad to do with Pokemon, then come home on holidays. Leaf was a young age when he died, though she thinks of him with fond thoughts. She thinks she got his sense of adventure from him.

If she had to choose, with whom would this character prefer to live?

Her mother! She's always lived with her, even if she always went and stayed with her cousin and his mother most of the time. She would do well with both, but she's relied on her mother for a lot of things and also to have her own freedom, so she would be comfortable with her. She also knows how to read her.

Where does this character fall in birth order? What effect does this have?

... Like, social standing? Uhh, middle class? Village girl? COUNTRY GIIIRL.

Describe this character’s siblings or other close relatives.

Her mother is a doting parent to Leaf. It's been just the two of them for a long time with her father nowhere to be seen in the games. If Leaf ever goes home or pop round, her mother's always read to help her out.

Describe this character’s bedroom. Include three cherished items.

What is this character’s birth date? How does this character manifest traits of his/her astrological sign?

If this character had to live in seclusion for six months, what six items would s/he bring?

... ... ... ... Her Pokemon.

Why is this character angry?

Relaxing! With a fun treat and walking around a town with shops and sights to see~ She likes being a trainer and all, but it wouldn't be what she would go and do to relax.

Describe a recurring dream or nightmare this character might have.

List the choices (not circumstances) that led this character to his/her current predicament.

List the circumstances over which this character has no control.

What wakes this character in the middle of the night?

Being sick and having one of those horrible dreams where everything is spinning and icky and ugh. Leaf doesn't really have nightmares or big worries, being a carefree Pokemon trainer and all. They're allowed to go off travelling in a big wide world on their own~

How would a stranger describe this character?

What does this character resolve to do differently every morning?

Who depends on this character? Why?

Her Pokemon, but it's a situation where they all depend on each other. Leaf wouldn't have been able to get as far as she did without them, like they wouldn't have travelled the world like they did. They're all gooooood buddies.

If this character knew s/he had exactly one month to live, what would s/he do?

How would a dear friend or relative describe this character?

What is this character’s most noticeable physical attribute?

What is this character hiding from him/herself?

Write one additional thing about your character.
