[ Character's Name ] : Leaf.
[ Character's Age ] : Around 15.
[ Series ] : Pokemon
[ Canon Point ] : Post series, sorta.

[ History ] :
With no actual history of her own and only being a fill-in for the female spot of the remake of the original Red and Blue games, Leaf's history here piggy-backs off of the back of her male counterpart, Red. While following a as similar-as-possible path as made in the game, this will have more than a 'bit' of headcanon!

This Leaf is a close cousin to Red, being family living close in a tiny town with no gym to people to visit. The two were close enough that Leaf woulds always (mostly) be at his house or hanging out with him, becoming a kind of 'third wheel' (or 'The Girl') with him and his friends. He was more like a brother for the girl-- the fun kind of brother she could pick on and 'educate', anyway.
It was this close bond to her cousin that led her to follow him on his and Green's beginnings of becoming Pokemon trainers. Even though she had other people she was friendly to, it wasn't the same without her cousin around to see everyday who was out there now on a great big adventure. Though she lacked behind in making a decision, she soon received her own Pokemon and said her good-byes to her mother and set out on her own journey.

The start was a rocky one for the young girl (especially getting lost in Mt. Moon). The rules of a Pokemon trainer took time for her to get used to (especially especially the staring one) and travelling on her own was a whole new experience, but while she met with bumps and tumbles in her journey, she soon became involved in the fun side of being a trainer and even became competitive at times against those she went against, creating her own air of confidence. She was always a step behind the two other Pallet children in having their names put up on the winners against gym leaders.

Her competitive trainer personality wasn't that determined and straight-forward, however. When she finally had enough badges to make her way to fight the Elite Four, she had long decided that the path of becoming a 'champion' wasn't really the one she wanted to pursue as a trainer. The gym leaders she had beaten had become obligatory from her sometimes fickle behaviour in deciding (and after seeing the familiar names always there, she wanted to catch up to the cousin she held a protective view over), but it was the journey that she loved the most than proving herself the very best that there ever was.

Heading back to Pallet Town to a surprised but happy mother, she learnt of her quirky cousin's success and was happy for him, but also a little jealous. Still not knowing if she was just following after the boys than travelling for herself, it took only a month to decide that, yes, she really did love the thrill of being a trainer-- and off she was again with the send off from an encouraging mother to keep on with her journey, maybe even ship herself off to a new region for a new batch of gym leaders if she could.

... And maybe try the Elite Four in the future.

[ Personality ] :Joining the ranks of a silent protagonist, Leaf goes even further than her male option in having not having a single piece of dialogue (not even the famous '...'!). There are small things here and there though to build on her, so I'll be trying to include those as I go along.

First off, Leaf inherits the Pallet Town child personality of being a curious person. It's this side of her personality that likely pushed her into keeping on with her journey, the excitement that came along with going from town to town.

When meeting with new people or caught off-guard, she does have a habit of taking time to respond to people if she's not sure of herself straight away. This is shown when she meets with a Pokemon profiler, who at first calls her rude for not saying hello straight back (my impression is she went '... Huh?' instead of saying hi) and then when on a cruise ship where a waiter calls her the 'strong silent type'. It's also here signs of fickleness can be shown, where the same woman will call her fickle (if you don't change your profile). I imagine she can become like this or easily persuaded when, again, put on the spot-- this later got her to buy a really expensive Magikarp after turning it down because of the seller's 'I'm only doing this for you!' making her feel bad (or more like pressured) enough to change her mind. Sometimes though, any signs of her fickle behaviour is shown in long silences when she's deciding things.

She isn't always like that, though-- actually, she's instead a rather cheerful and fun loving young girl who is delighted to meet new people. Always okay with helping people out and giving out her time (like for Professor Oak at the beginning, though that won't be canon for Leaf for obvious conflicts in history), I think her to be the sort who doesn't mind lending out a hand to others if they ask.

My interpretation of Leaf is a girl who can be made to change her mind. Such as with the incident that gave her a Magikarp, there's been other times when she's felt bad for the decision she's made and tried to take it back for the best one (even though you're not forced to in the game). One other example of this is when speaking to a berry specialist, admitting that she didn't care much about berries. The man chided her for not being more aware, which she then said yes-- and asked why she would lie and she wasn't carrying a single berry! She tries, except for when it comes to people trying to push her into evil baddy criminal organisations. She'll pass on that all the time (which she does when a Team Rocket member, part of a criminal group, tries to get her to join after defeating some trainers).

When it's time to get serious, she puts on that confident air she built through her Pokemon battling and bossing acting as a good cousin to Red. Just look at this trainer pose. Even though she has times of second-guessing herself, when she knows what to do or has to get through a goal, she puts as much into it as she can. Achieving gold or not isn't a big issue for her, but she still wants to know she put her best into it. This particularly comes out in Pokemon battles the most, but any challenges she gets herself into would be the same. Like potato sack hopping.

Anyway, let's touch on teasing here. Going through the game with Green as your rival, Leaf will be met with his obnoxious behaviour and 'smell ya later's when they meet.  In the face of being called way chatty, she often pulls a pout and denies any claims she doesn't agree with ('...I'm not chatty... ' or 'I'm not that quiet...' even though she can be) than get in a bickering fight. Being more talkative than her cousin doesn't mean she wants to get catty with anyone, but it does mean it's time to get sulky.

All in all, she's a cheery girl with a sense of adventure and a curiousity that carries it and her. Sometimes weak in sticking to her guns to fall for pushy salespeople, but not enough to go and rob a bank. Confident in Pokemon battles, sisterly confident all over Red, and sometimes slow-but-gradully comfortable with new people. Happy to lend a hand, loves to hang out and have fun, sulks and pouts when down-- she's an average girl in a Pokemon world. OH THAT'S CHEESY, ME.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Leaf is an ordinary girl with no superpowers, but she does have the energy for travelling far and the experience as a trainer. In Pokemon, trainers are people who capture wild animals and train them for participating in battles against other Pokemon and become powerful and strong and awesome.

Exceeept in Vatheon where all her Pokemon won't be able to come out and play. Oh. This leaves her with her own skills of being okay with technology (not a technology buff, but not one of those in a world without it), okay with getting involved, and with a lot of endurance. ... ... But she'd rather ride a bike.

Also she hates caves. :(

[ Other Important Facts ] :None.

[ Sample ] :
Hmm, I should try learning to cook for myself... if I do that, then maybe when I have the chance, I could have a hot dinner more often. I hear some trainers take all sorts around with them, like portable gas stoves, a tin opener, even fresh food and veg!

A town will have that stuff, won't it? I could try getting a bit of everything and then having a go... stew isn't so bad, you can stick anything in a stew! Oh, but that wouldn't be good to carry around. Can't you only buy fruits and vegetables in bulks? And cans get be really heavy... I don't know if my shoulders could take all that weight.

... and are gas stoves even affordable for me?

...

...I'll stick to buying sandwiches for now...
