Halifax bound

I'm hoping not to jinx it by mentioning it, but I seem to have stumbled into a great opportunity to do the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race again this year. Found a very eager owner and crew with no offshore racing experience, in need of a watch captain with experience. Me.

I'm going to be the most-experienced racer aboard by far, and second only to an old salty cruiser, who will be the navigator, in total sailing time. Probably also the most experienced in heavy-weather and blue-water sailing. I'm slightly nervous, but very excited.

It's a great race. 360 miles (about 3-4 days, depending on weather, for this boat), cold, wet, foggy and miserable, with my favorite city in North America as the destination.

As an added bonus, hollywd and Lachlan will be coming up to Halifax for the weekend after the race.

5 weeks to the start!
