Danke. :)

I was thinking of sending them that photo of me your took- face down, fast asleep in Serway's "Physics for Scientists and Engineers". But, I think I need to work on a better geeky photo.

Wikipedia also notes:
"She is one of the main characters in the alternate history "Steampunk" novel The Difference Engine by Bruce Sterling and William Gibson, which posits a world in which Babbage's machines were mass produced and the computer age started a century early."

which sounds rather like your sort of thing, I think

see the mappity map post below! If you go here you will find a world map of the IP addresses of machines which have accessed my LJ since I posted the map. I think I can identify the visitors from Toronto or Evanston, IL, but I don't know anyone, for instance in Moscow, or Isreal, but now I know they've visted. I've only had one person comment whom I didn't know and he found my blog with Technorati. None of the others have commented so I can only know their whereabouts. I'm now trying to figure out how to add the html to the basic structure of the LJ and not just a single post, so I can monitor visitor's whereabouts consistently. LJ doesn't make it easy for those of us who don't pay (and why should they?) so it'll take some sniffing around. So far, my basic counter attempt has failed, but I'm stubborn.

When you say "what communities do you belong to" what do you mean? I assume you mean that like the Feb.8 post here, in which case I would say ( ... )
