These fabric nesting dolls I made this weekend. They are lino block prints on faux bois fabric with matrioshka print fabric inner pocket lining and backs (in contrasting fabrics). I made a similar set for Mother's Day, though the ribbon on these to allow them to be hung on hangers is a new innovation (Like the scientist-grant-application buzz word? Sorry. It's a compulsion.) They are filled with lavender and blueberry tea. Why blueberry tea? Because faunalia's late father Ziggy gave us 5 lbs. of the stuff about 15 years ago (when we were living in the apartment below blythechild and synap's current home, the Hobbit Hole). I cannot throw out perfectly good tea, and yet, NO ONE should have to drink 5 lbs.* of the same sort of tea over 1.5 decades. It's just wrong. So, I play to smuggle the stuff out of my apartment by selling it to unsuspecting happy, nostalgic, customers with nice smelling closets.

Where did Ziggy get 5 lbs. of blueberry tea remains an outstanding question. It remains one of the more unusual housewarming gifts I have ever observed. reynardin will recall the less than subtle pleas that she help drink the blueberry tea.
