I turned off my cable today. I've been threatening to do it for a while - I'm in extended "scrape every penny I possibly can into the Moving Fund" mode. It's very strange, I feel disconnected somehow, despite having the whole internet still at my fingertips. But I can't just switch on the idiot box and see what the world is doing, or channel surf to shut off my brain.
The Neener is away this weekend, so I'm enjoying a bit of quiet time. I could have gone to a Slashbash today, and dinner up in LA with an old buddy, but I really didn't feel like so much driving. Instead I'm making sure I got every bit of data off the old server before shutting it down.
