I can't believe what I'm about to say BUT:
Today I saw a pair of $165 boots that I really want. Really really soft leather, to the knee, soft sole, perfect shape, furry (but not fur) lining. I don't remember the brand. I just want them. And despite the fact that I owe everyone in the world money and can't even afford a pair of new socks, I'm trying to think of how I can get $165 for these boots.
Partly, I blame it on the fact that I now work in the W. Village. And let the record show that I LOVE the West Village. I don't care how trendy or trite or yuppie or whatever it might be, it's my second week there (working at a NATUROPATHIC HEALTH CLINIC!!!) so I get to oo and ahh at all the cute little shops and cafes.
My job rocks. Perfect amount of hours (part-time), super doctor (30 y.o. arts-loving, left-leaning, smart Canadian naturopath woman). The clinic will be home to lectures and yoga classes as well as patient care.
Sobriety agrees with me. Mostly. Remembering stupid things I did while drunk helps. Todays theme: Things I did while holding a microphone.
My new friend D, the wedding cake designer has hired me to do some PR work for her, which I'm having fun doing. It's basically just getting her in touch with the right people and giving her ideas, organizing, and a little design work. I've found that this is the ONLY situation in which the gift of knowing how to run other people's lives comes in handy. :)
The car fiasco ended with the guy not meeting me to get his money back (or give me my title back) and me fretting for an entire day about if he was going to try and pull one over one me. Turns out we just a miscommunication, we met, exchanged the exchangeables, and the fiasco is over. The car just needs to go die for a few months in a quiet field. I will figure out how to get money for it after that. I met a cute man tonight, I think he was an attorney. He reminded me of my friend Fish. Too bad he smoked.
Chloe is coughing. She didn't go to school all week. Our entire house is sick.
