So our homework in my World Lit II class was to read about Ghalib and his "Ghazal" poems...then we had to attempt to write one on our own...
From my understanding, it had to be about "love", and in aa, ba, ca, da...etc. form...
Here's my attempt:
I look around at the smiling faces and empty stares,
Wondering why we wander aimlessly with no apparent flare...
For life or living and what it really means,
Everyone stuck in their ways, ignorant with no worries or care,
Except for who is thinking what or going out with whom.
Nevermind the true heartache the real world may bear.
Where is my pair of rose-colored glasses they all seem to have,
I guess nobody ever promised me that happiness would be fair.
PS: It's a B-E-A-UTIFUL day outside...oh my. I wish I weren't about to study for my organic test...bleh!
