Dream on...

It's amazing how oppurtunities will present themselves.

Everything I've read, or anyone that I've talked to says that to get into Marine Biology, you need experience. I live in Madison. Not too many dolphins or walruses up here...

So lately I've been looking into studying abroad next summer, maybe Austraila or something...this way I'm taking classes but still getting experience that I can slap on my resume. Well, this summer I'm going to try and get into some classes at Dauphin Island for the month of July, and finish up in time to move in and get settled hopefully before band camp. I have to talk to one of the professors at Auburn once school starts back up, he said we would take a look at the program. Cross your fingers!

Then my Uncle called me last night, they live in Dallas so we're going to hook up while I'm there for the game :-) I can't wait to see the girls...
Anyway, his next door neighbor wants to open an aquarium bigger than Atlanta's in Dallas in the next few years, and my uncle had told him that I was interested in Marine Biology and what not, so last night when I was talking to him he said that he had talked to his neighbor and said that when I was ready and as long as I could get there, I would have an internship at his aquarium in Guam.

WHAT?! Holy cow I just about cried...I went online and checked it out, saw a picture of his neighbor...it would be amazing.

I don't want to screw up my future and be stuck teaching biology to middle school. I've bookmarked all of the Marine society websites, the internation marine mammal trainer website...blah blah blah, and everything they talked about is experience. I hope that with taking classes this summer at Dauphin Island, and then really getting into my Animal Science classes next year, I'll be ready to do an internship for the summer. Gah, I get chill bumps when I think about it...

Someday. I really want to train. But just being around these animals will help get my foot in the door.

Merry Christmas everyone! Smile today.
