“You’re very handsome the way you are.” Mrs. Crabbe hugged her teenage son. “Only ten pounds until you fit into that suit you like.”
Vincent’s stomach growled. He kissed his mum and ran outside.
“What’s in the bag?” Greg asked.
“Chompin’ cabbage.”
“They’re not good to eat, you know.”
“It’s not for eating… It’s for that crup next door who keeps slipping out of his leash.”
“Huh?”
“That creature completely cleaned out my stash of sweets!” He pulled up a loose plank on the steps and threw the veggie into the hole. “A lovely present for the lovely crup.”
