Their relationship. Oh god. You just about broke my heart all over again, because as beautiful as it is or could be, it just isn’t enough, and it’s kind of worse because they know that. I kind of want to give them both a shake and tell them to just sort themselves out and communicate, but of course, they wouldn’t really seem like Lea and Isa if they did.

I really like your descriptions of little things, like Isa stretching with ‘his back a ribbed crescent moon’, and how Traverse Town has all these superstitions that Lea still doesn’t join in with, because he’s still too separate. And especially how the recap of their life goes from things like them fighting as toddlers to killing someone together. I can’t really explain why, exactly- they just add so much more depth to the events going on around them, if that makes sense.

Now. The ending. I feel kind of bad for saying that I think this is the best possible ending they could’ve got. I love that it’s such a short but so final part of the whole fic, that they’re together when they face the end, that whatever’s there is so vague...just everything really, I think, works really well. And the fact that no matter how many times my heart broke for them throughout this, this part completely topped the rest.

So, to wrap up all my ramblings, I really enjoyed this. You already know that I love the way you write these two, but this was definitely worth the wait! Thank you! :D

This is the weaker half in my opinion - it's too angsty and not really going anywhere, and I'm not really pleased with it, but I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! The section with them as toddlers and other events in life was my favourite part to write, mainly because again, I was searching for normality within Isa and Lea, and how messed up they were from the start.

I deliberately made the ending short and abrupt, as a small emphasis on how little they cared for their fate by that point, and also that it was pretty much beyond their control. I dunno, I can never write happy things for these two, can I? o_o I don't think I ever will XD

Can I just say thanks again for reading, reviewing and requesting this fic (a lot of R's, sorry!) - it was a really good exercise for me, and I seem to consider my writing harder if it's meant as a gift for someone else! Thanks so much for reading! ♥
