Well we just had a "fire drill." And normally, I'm all about fire safety. I'd rather be safe than sorry. But come on now! My building's fire alarm goes off about once a week! Do we really need to test it a second time this week? They did, however, determine that two of the building's horns on the alarms didn't work, so I guess that's good for them to know so that they can fix the problem. And then the fire marshall said they knew the alarms were hard to hear because the alarms are in the stairwells between the buildings, and the bedrooms are on the outside walls. So we are supposed to be sure we stick our heads out the door into the stairwell to see if ours is going off. Please be sure to remind me of that while I'm sleeping and hear nothing because I don't sleep with my head hanging out the door to my apartment.
