Well, I have started my new job. The one that I've gone to school for the last five years to get. And I must say, the five years of school and the huge amount of debt that I ended with for the graduate school portion were so worth it. I love my job. I work as a staff accountant for a public accounting firm. My co-workers are great and I don't have to answer the phone, which was the most dreaded part of my job for the last five years. I'm still in the process of getting used to the procedures and software and stuff like that, so it should be even better when I am more comfortable with it all. I have to allow myself about 4 hours worth of commute time (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening), but the drive just doesn't really seem that bad. I just turn on some music to sing along to and I'm good to go. I'm also in the process of trying to get my CPA license. Though it seems rather difficult to study for that at the moment. I get up between 5 and 6 (depending on when I have to be there that day), and don't usually get home before 7, so that only leaves 2 or 3 hours to get dinner and get ready for the next day before I have to go to bed. At least my weekends are free to take care of the studying. My boss is convinced that I'm going to pass these exams the first time, so I really don't want to let him down. His reassurance actually really helps to motivate me, even though he was ragging on me Friday because I told him I was spending my four day weekend studying, it was all in good fun.
