Dr. Elliot once again amazed me today with his sheer genius in the literary world. We talked today about this book called Dead Voices, which is really weird, but really cool. Anyways, I was just starting to grasp the concept of transformation through plurality when all of a sudden Dr. Elliot relays this idea of binary conception and how this book challenges that. All of a sudden it all made sense! How did I not see it? He seriously changes the ideas and philosophies I have about language and literature. It makes me think about the world differently and causes me to actually reconsider going to grad school. Also, in poetry class, I was encouraged by the A I received on my past paper! Yay...sadly, that was the first paper I've ever gotten an A on this semester in English class. Curse the dreaded B+!!!
You would think that somewhere in this entry I would stop talking about school and share some other tidbits of what's going on in my life, right? Wrong. Unfortunately, there are no other tidbits currently. This week, school is life. Tomorrow: art history midterm: 75 paintings memorized, 25 to go.... Thursday: poetry midterm; yes, I've never had a midterm before in an English class--this will be interesting. And Friday: I once again cower before Dr. Elliot and meekly submit my 8 page paper as a mere offering to his genius. I will humbly accept any grade he gives me. Ok...I'm going to eat lunch before I go to work at the Telefund. I actually enjoy that job.....wow, I live a sad life. Anyways, I'm out.
