Last night I got some pretty new yarn! I love it all. It is all lovely sock/fingerling weight yarn. I weighed it, and it is 4 lbs!
The sad thing about my new yarn is that it means that we will be losing a physical Carol. She is still going to be around next week, but she is moving. It will be better for everyone in the end, but it will still be sad that she won't be there on Mon nights.
On lighter news: I have started my charity blog and I have started the knitting for it too. ...but I don't seem to know numbers. For the pattern I am supposed to cast on 160 stitches. I like using stitch markers ever 100 to help me keep track. In my mind that means I need two stitch markers. I was then confused on my first row that I knit 34, do a decrease, knit 86, do another decrease, and then finish the last 34. I found myself thinking "But I didn't even get to the first stitch marker, and there are 100 more stitches between the two!" I even added all the numbers together and found they did, indeed, add-up to 160.
Anyone else see the problem yet? It took me half-way through the first row to realize that I need 160 stitches...and I cast on 260.
Yes, sometimes I amaze me too...
Anyway, a link to the new blog:
