School Grounds - Sunday evening

Feb 08, 2009 17:59

Claudia was disappointed in this place. These mortals were not as easy to fool and she pouted, greatly. If Louis or Lestat didn't rectify this situation to her liking, she would demand they take her elsewhere. She was extremely bored this evening and wouldn't play with her food. But she would find a woman and she would keep her, even dead if she ( Read more... )

Even after what he'd seen in the last day and a half, John still hadn't expected to see a kid dragging her dolly across the grounds. He argued with himself for a moment before deciding that it would be wrong not to check on her.

"Hey there, are you okay?"

Pausing, Claudia looked up at him and answered quite honestly, "No, I am not. I am starving, actually."

He'd never seen a child so perfect-looking. "Maybe I can help you with that. I was just on my way to town for," a drink, "some food. We could walk together." That might silence the annoying chatter in his head until he got another drink.

Claudia smiled, the gesture not close to reaching her eyes. She stepped closer to him, her eyes vivid against her pale skin. "You are a gentleman, monsieur. I am terribly hungry and have not eaten since last eve."

Jean-Paul had eventually made his way up to the school, in hopes of finding some other teenagers, since the ID in his wallet said the old dude with his name worked at a high school. He was, therefore, a bit surprised to see a child who looked too young for advanced coursework. "Are you lost, little girl?" he asked. That sounded kind of cliche. And creepy. "I could help you find a cop or whatever."

Claudia tilted her head, her expression entirely innocent. "I am, I am very lost. And I am starving," she answered, making her bottom lip tremble slightly.

"Well, then I guess the adult I ditch you with--I mean, that we find--will have to find you some food, huh?"

Jean-Paul Beaubier: not that great at the superheroing manner in any universe.

She decided that was perfectly acceptable. And would let him believe such.

Extending her tiny, cold hand towards him, she replied, "I would be most grateful."

Claire moped around the school grounds, almost stomping her fashionable (for 1984) slouchy boots.

Stupid boxers, stupid no pay phones, stupid everything.

The little girl got a glance and a slight smile. At least helping her would be something to do. "Hey, are you lost?"

"Oui," she replied. "I am very lost." And Claudia decided to cry.

At last, a beautiful woman.

Claire stepped closer to get a closer look. The little girl was dressed and had her hair styled just like a perfect doll.

"I don't know town that well," she said, "but I can try to help. Where do your parents live?"

"Maman is dead," she whispered, her voice eerily sweet.

Claudia stepped closer to the woman. "I am alone."

It probably would have been a good idea to listen to the radio last night. If she had, Brooke wouldn't have been out where there were vampires and psycho killers wandering around.

As it was, Brooke was calling it a pretty early night tonight, heading back to the dorms from Caritas when she saw the girl. "Hey there," she called. "Are you out here by yourself?"

This night was proving delightful.

Claudia sniffled and nodded. "I am. I am lost and hungry."

"Aww. That's no good. Where are you parents?" she wondered, coming closer.

"Maman is dead," she replied, stepping closer as well, as her doll dragged upon the ground. "I cannot find my father." Her expression was soft, her eyes innocent, and she was utterly perfect.

Yellow was taking a walk around the island this evening when he saw the girl. "Hello, there!"

Claudia paused, stood still, and stared at... "What are you?"

"I'm a commercial spokesman," Yellow said. "My name is Yellow."

She took a step back, unsure of the creature. "Where do you come from?"
