Had heard this verse a very long time back. Translated from Omar Khayyams Rubaiyat.It has the same abstract depth that beautiful metaphors always do :-)
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
Downloaded the rest of the Rubaiyat.Dont know if I will get around to reading it :-)
