My concert report - Aqua Timez @ AFA Singapore 2024 ; 29th Nov 2024
This year's Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024 (AFA 2024) took place last Fri - weekend at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre .
Same with previous instalments , AFA 2024 was spilt into a few parts with 1 of them being the Concert segment where several different artistes performed at the showcase during the 3 days event .
For Day 1 of AFA 2024 , the following artistes performed :

Aqua Timez
The last time I attended AFA was 2018 which I was very fortunate to see SPYAIR perform .
This time round I went to attend the 1st day of AFA 2024 with the sole reason to just to see Aqua Timez .
Aqua Timez is 1 of many artistes I've supported for a very long time . In July this year they announced they were reuniting after they spilt up in 2018 & I was ecstatic for their return because they have some really great songs in their discography & next year is their 20th anniversary , hence the reason why they've come back together again .
In addition Aqua Timez would disband again end of next year after they celebrate their 20th anniversary so the fact that they were coming here to perform , all the more I did not want to miss this chance to see them in performance .

Both the Aqua Timez 20th face towel & T-shirt were specially created for sale to be sold during AFA 2024 . In Japan both goods are sold but only in black & white colours respectively .
My sister & I purchased the VIP Category 1 concert tickets . AFA organised a balloting concert where there was a chance to win an autographed poster from any of the artistes that performed during the Concert segment .
It was a surprise when both of us won 2 autographed Aqua Timez posters !
It would have been great to meet Aqua Timez in person during the autographed poster giveaway but unfortunately that did not happened .
In addition we were told that there was a possibility that Aqua Timez might not perform due to flight issues which to me was odd because I assumed that all the members took the same flight together here but guess not :s
The Concert for all 3 AFA 2024 dates started at 7pm . Luckily & thankfully Aqua Timez did performed onstage which they did so at 9.40pm and they were not surprisingly the last artiste to perform after Nishikawa Takanori .
My sister & I's seats were quite good , we were neither near or far from the stage and I was able to get a good look at all the members when they finally & thankfully came onstage to perform .
Aqua Timez's setlist :

2) Wa ni Natte

5) Ketsui no Asa ni
6) Sen no Yoru wo Koete
7) Niji
8) MASK
Aqua Timez's performance lasted almost an hour & not surprisingly they were superb live .
The very 1st Aqua Timez song I heard was Velonica & it was fantastic when they performed it last Fri night . When bassist OKP-STAR played the intro bass beats of Velonica , I immediately knew what song it was .
Seeing that many of Aqua Timez's songs were provided to promote the BLEACH anime series it was also not a surprise they kicked off their setlist with ALONES .
The 1st surprise of Aqua Timez's setlist is that they performed 2 album tracks Wa ni Natte & Fly Fish (From their because you are you & Elf No Namida studio albums)
The 2nd surprise was Aqua Timez performed Niji which I did not expect even though I secretly hope they would because Niji was not used to promote an anime but rather the Gokusen drama series so for them to perform it as the 2nd last song , that was awesome .
And lastly the 3rd surprise was when Aqua Timez performed Sen no Yoru wo Koete . The entire venue became a huge karaoke session & I almost had goosebumps when that happened because everyone in the crowd sang the entire song from start until finish together with Aqua Timez .
Did I wish Aqua Timez would have performed more songs ? Of course I did . I was surprised that they did not perform their comeback song Hitoshizuku & also other songs they provided to promote the Naruto & Magi anime series ie. Mayonaka no Orchestra & Eden .
Aside from that it was really worth the wait to see Aqua Timez in concert & I feel that they sound better live as compared to what I hear in their CDs . I think Aqua Timez themselves were really surprised on the crowd reception they received & that they do have fans here outside of Japan & also who know their songs .
I don't know if Aqua Timez would come back next year to do a standalone concert but if that did not happen , it's ok because at least I finally have an opportunity to see them perform & that's more than I could ask for .
