quantifiably better

today was the first day I came home without a lingering headache (from computer use at work, often compounded with sleep deprivation) since the concussion. I believe it's also the first day that I've worked 7 hours and NOT felt any serious consequences at the end of the day (and I've mostly been working less-than-7-hours in an attempt to avoid overdoing it at all).

Last week, my NP said I was doing so much better than she even expected, and I could expect to continue recovering on that trajectory.

Oh right -- I never said HOW I got the concussion! Folks keep (reasonably!) asking.
I was putting groceries away in the fridge, and didn't realise I'd stuck my head too far in, and tried to stand up -- into the underside of the (stainless steel) freezer door. All those strong back muscles, using all their force to slam the back of my head into a stainless steel block! Needless to say, getting things from the fridge has become an excessively cautious endeavor. :-P

I can tell exactly when it happened by looking at my fitbit heartrate chart for that evening. I knew it was sometime after 9pm but before 9:20 (timestamp of when I told Fred "guess WTF I just did to myself"). It spikes to 104 bpm at 9:10pm. bleh.

health, mink
