hair salon suggestions?

I need some help. This isn't even entirely wedding specific. But, I need to get my hair cut before next Thursday (we are taking some engagement photos to get to know our photog Jamie better). I haven't been to a real salon in over three years and I have no idea how to find one now.

I have an unusual hair care system. For about three years now, I've used baking soda and apple cider vinegar rinses to clean my hair instead of shampoo. This allows my hair to stay close to a natural state of oil production and distribution. Shampoo strips your hair of all oils, and conditioner has to add some of those back in. My hair and scalp are much happier with a less varied state - this system is closer to a natural equilibrium. But, this means that I CANNOT ever use shampoo because it will ruin the balance (it takes a few weeks once you quit shampoo for things to even out). It also means I can't put chemicals, gels, hairsprays, etc, onto my hair because I'm not using an abrasive enough cleansing system to get them back off of my hair. There are some more "natural" options that I'm investigating but I don't want to go to a salon and have to fight with them about this.

Also, I've been cutting my own hair since I started doing this. It's long enough that I can do that pretty easily. I found a local barber that was willing to cut my hair without washing it (turns out, she used the baking soda/vinegar system as well!) but her shop was recently bought out by Metro PCS. I have no idea where she is now!

I don't want my hair to look spectacular but I'm willing to pay for a guaranteed good hair cut. I know I can't cut layers into it on my own very well. I know that there must be hair people out there who are willing to just get it wet, and not use any products on it. Does anyone have a suggestion? Even though we live north of Boston, in Malden, I'm downtown four days a week and it would be easy for me to take the T somewhere.

Thanks in advance...
