if it rings of truth, throw it out the window

Today's note: Pizza Hut is not particularly improved by pineapple. Perhaps next week I'll give onions a go and see if that does it.
Meanwhile, it's insane theory time!

So last week at work I was rereading Witches Abroad. This week I'm rereading Soul Music (and half wondering just how much of it I've got memorized by now... XD). And I noticed a little something.

"The drums rolled. Except that... maybe it wasn't drums now, maybe it was a beat in the floor itself, or in the walls, or in the air. It was fast and hot and people in the hall found their feet moving of their own accord, because the drumming seemed to reach the toes via the hindbrain without ever passing near the ears."
-Witches Abroad, p. 313

"It was music that went down to the feet by way of the pelvis without making a call on Mr. Brain... It leapt from head to head, crackling in through the ears and heading for the hindbrain."
-Soul Music, p. 107-108

Eerily similar, anyone?

So, new theory: Music with rocks in got its first taste of the Disc during that whole mess in Genua. But... since the conduit at the time was a zombie, and the already dead don't so much lend themselves to the 'live fast, die young' lifestyle, it decided to retreat for the time being and wait for the opportune moment.
...I wouldn't put it past the stuff, anyway. XD

Note to self: If you've any real hopes of the San Francisco business, you're best figuring more of it out now rather than putting it off and it turning into your idea about going to New York sophomore year (i.e. not happening).
