In other news: The middle of dinner, particularly at the risk of putting one off said meal for the rest of the week, is not the best time for one's brain to go 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has this to say about ramen.' And yet, that happened yesterday, so now I attempt to write a Guide entry:
Ramen are a curious and rather unintelligent pasta-based life form found in the outer Pleiades. Some of their more enterprising neighbors discovered that ramen will last indefinitely if freeze-dried, and make for a filling, if somewhat flavorless, meal. Ramen are sold (accompanied with various seasoning packets) on a number of planets at very low cost, and are most popular, or at least most stomached, among university students and other beings in desperate financial straits. Some of the more advanced, and therefore more expensive, forms of ramen are treated as a special delicacy in the outer reaches of the Rygel system.
