I CAN'T EVEN

This is harsh, mind blowing and utterly delicious. I simply adore the fierce brutality and violence, but in the heat of the moment I can still spot the underlying emotions. The descriptions and metaphors are outstanding - one should think that the use of fire and ice became too much, but it just added to the effect. The way you illustrate their opposites is captivating.

The first sentence in itself is gorgeous. “I don’t like the way he looks at you.” - you immediately put the anger, possessiveness and stormy feelings into place. I was sold before I had even finished that line. And everything, through the whole fic, down to the smallest details and barest hints of memories, childhood and affection, lived up to my expectations and beyond. I'm stunned.

Yay!

Fierce brutality and violence is my specialty; it is all the slash stuff that I struggle with. Can't write it to save my life. Love the fact that you commented on all the descriptions and metaphors as well; they were both easy and hard to do. It's my first time in this fandom, so I had to switch my mind around and make sure I was referring to things that would exist in this world as opposed to ones I use in my usual gangster settings.

First sentence for the win! Don't get me wrong, I do have a soft spot for Robb, but I do tend to picture him as a petulant brat most of the time, so it was actually really fun having him so possessive and angry straight off the cuff. Sort of slaps people in the face and makes them pay attention.

Thank you for reading and thank you even more for taking the time to share your thoughts and dissect it down. I love it when people do that; it means the world.

I am not surprised; I've never seen anyone write brutality and violence like you do. I could not tell that slash is not among your specialties though, because the balance was amazing. I hope that you will get more inspiration to write in this fandom, I really like your style.

I can picture possessive!Robb any day - I haven't read the books, but I get the impression that he is very possessive when it comes to his bastard brother. I have no trouble imagining it, at least.

You're most welcome, by the way! It's always a pleasure to write a proper review, and you truly deserved it.

Oh, I am the QUEEN of not being able to write slash. I have this EPIC jrock fanfic that is just full of crazy yakuza and police and plot twists all over the place. I am half way through the continuation (first one was over 300 pages long - yeah, I like to rant) and I still haven't got them to slash yet. FML! Violence and fight scenes though... ah, I just love them. And the thoughts and feelings that fill in those moments of pure rage; that fraction of time where so many things can go through your head and yet none of them make sense. Kinda a fascination of mine I guess ( ... )

Oh, at first I thought you said 300 words and hadn't slashed them yet, but 300 pages? Dammit, I'm impressed, seriously! I am a very impatient writer myself, so honestly, I kind of envy you that ability to go on and on and on, and drag out the plot and the story. Makes the slash even better when it finally comes!

Possessive Robb makes perfect sense. They're the same age, they've grown up together, one loved by both his parents, the other one hated by the other's mother, doesn't know his own and can't be loved by his father. What's not to like (and fantasize about)~

To a reviewer, words like that are very dear! It makes it more fun when you know that your feedback is actually being read and appreciated. I do hope more slashers and shippers will get their eyes open for this fandom, because a few more wouldn't hurt ;>
