OMG!

So, Morrissey is one the musicians responsible for Charlie making it through teenism.  He is one of Chu's fav artists whom he has never seen.  I have always liked him as well.  When we fell into tickets to go last night to see him, it was magical!  It was an awesome show.  He played the Pageant, which is a small venue,  that had general admission.  We ended up being less than 10 feet away from Morrissey!!!!!

The fans were like none I have ever seen before.  I have seen some crazy and rabid fans before, but not ones that have that deep love for the artist they are seeing.  Morrissey evokes such strong devotion, it is more like worship.  And it didn't matter if they were a scrawney pale 16 or 17 male/female crying as he sang or a huge muscular black man with morrissey shaved in his head screaming "I love you Morrissey".  There were 45 year old business people and one guy who was about 18 who not only loved Morrissey (and commented that as the band started to walk on stage he just "creamed a little in my pants") but loves the Stray Cats as well.  He also repeated how he was gonna pass out every 5 minutes.  He was funny.  Now, the only time I saw the rabidity of the adoring throng is the when Morrissey threw out his shirt (2 of them, actually) and the band threw out pics, drumsticks, and set lists.  The fights that ensued over the shirts!!!   The first one he threw out was about the 4th song in and the people fought over it for the next 2 or 3 songs.  I  understand wanting something that had touched the magnificent, but I wouldn't want to miss when he is singing to you.

The best part?  It was Morrissey's bday last night!  There were presents and cards and balloons being passed up through the crowd to him all night.  He was so gracious about it!

Well, I will let Chu tell the rest in his awesome way of telling stories, and he will also tell you about the not so gracious chic who opened for Morrissey.   All in all a wonderful time, and I will always remember how happy chu was to go.  *squee*

Time to worm the pacas.  More on them later as well.
