i am probably a bad person to reply to this but i would call the cops. she has done something similar to me and to our former roommate in regards to getting replacement roommates, paying rent and putting the cable and electricity in her name--meaning that she refused to meet her obligations in all of those things and when she could not longer easily avoid us, just decided to unfriend and ignore all attempts at communication. we ended up having to pay a substantial amount of money to avoid completely nuking our credit. she seems to be under the impression that if she ignores you, you will go away and the situation will resolve itself. if i could have reported a crime in my case, i would have.

you could also just show up and hope that she answers the door.

From what I recall of the situation, you and Nicole decided to move out on a whim and completely fucked Ms. Cowden over, and you also neglected to check or open your mail, leading her electricity to be cut off, as the bill was buried somewhere in that stack. Grow the fuck up and have the good grace to take responsibility for your own actions. And that goes for you too, Brian. How many times have you pulled this adolescent bullshit? And how many times has it backfired and exploded all over your face?

I don't know anything about what happened with the living situation.

There is nothing adolescent about having my equipment stolen and trying to recover it.

If you look at the post you should see that I have a great deal of respect for Katie both as a friend and an artist and I am quite surprised about my situation.

I don't know who you are, but it seems you have established your opinion of the situation and I am unlikely to sway it.

All I know is I was trying to help Katie to learn more skills and have more opportunity in her photography business, and that has blown up in my face.

I don't see this as adolescent, but you may. And you are welcome to your opinion.

well seeing as how i have no idea who you are, as far as i am concerned it's none of your business, nor does it sound like you have an accurate account of the situation. for the record, i gave her a month's notice and reminded her repeatedly about the electricity. since she did not need the bill to get the power put into her name, my checking of the mail is completely irrelevant as the power was turned off because after i paid the final bill, i called them and asked them to remove me from the account 3 days after i moved, which would disconnect the power if it was not put into her name. should anyone require proof of this, i have more than one email of me reminding her of the situation prior to the event. should she have taken 3 seconds to call the power company, they would have informed her that you do not need the current account number, just your personal information and your home address. since my name was pending removal, there would have been no problem. additionally, since i've moved out, the ex-landlord has attempted to ( ... )
