Thursday I didn't even have an appointment for the dentist, though I went anyway. Had gotten used to going every Thursday! They saw me anyway, cleaned the top left quadrant and fixed a couple of fillings. Yay for things getting fixed. They set me up with a prescription toothpaste. 1.1% fluoride in it, versus the .5% or some junk normal fluoride toothpaste has. I didn't know they made such a thing. Have another appointment this Thursday, for sure. This is what happens when you don't make it to the dentist for over seven years. Go regularly, it hurts less. [/end pubservann]
And then! I got a chest cold. Found out from hubby that both roomies had it, hubby had it and brother in law whom I sat next to and see in the office frequently also had it. It seems I was doomed no matter what precautions I took. It's not too bad, for all my fussing. Just annoying.
My sister, who's younger than I, has had more health problems since I last saw her in Denver than most anyone else I can think of. A few ribs broke free and were floating around in there, causing all sorts of discomfort. She went in last week for emergency surgery. Gallstones. I thought people in their thirties-plus got those. She's not even twenty yet! They removed the stones and scheduled her for an all-out gallbladder removal. Her liver is swollen and thinking of acting up as a result. She still hasn't lost the weight from her pregnancies. Drives me nuts, the way she doesn't take care of herself. Hopefully she'll take a better look after she's healed. Yes, I know I'm a fine one to talk considering the dental business, but it's not like I'm having bits of me removed!
Hubby worked all weekend, came home last night and didn't feel like cooking, which suited me as I didn't feel like eating. He finally got me to agree to some soup, and he has an Applebees gift card from forever ago that's due to expire soon. We get there, the place is packed. Naturally, it's Saturday around 8pm. Feeling as groggy, scratchy throated and half deaf as I was, I did not even want to deal with the bar/grill noise. But he did drive me all the way out and just because I wasn't interested in food, doesn't mean he wasn't. So we go inside, get seated and I try to find soups on the menu. All they had was the super oniony liquid of dhoom you dip roast beef sandwiches in. Not so much. I didn't have to be such an ass though. I rudely asked if we could go now. Right in front of the server. Bleh.
We stopped at ABC pizzza, got a gyro, a greek salad and some baklava. Went home, ate in bed while watching Excel Saga and called it a night.
I was thinking of not going to work tomorrow so I didn't spread this vicious respiratory system eating virus about. Then I realized the only one who'd be hit by it is teh fil. Needless to say, I'm going to work tomorrow. ^_^
