Last night I had enough of not having sound on my comp, so I used a little bit of my 'get a new comp' fund on a soundcard. It's a cheapie generic analog soundcard, but it supports 6.1 surround, mosh! Not bad for 30$ at Circuit City. Muahahaha!
So I install it. Yay! And then, Windows XP screams about the drivers sucking. Frell that. So because WinXP doesn't like the drivers that -came- with the damn soundcard, it branched out on it's own and created an IRQ conflict which disabled my internet (yay for network cards and soundcards conflicting). Then. Windows told me it wanted to connect to the internet to go look for drivers it liked. I told it that it should have thought of that before it screwed me out of 'net. Bastid.
So I thought I'd be cute and call RoadRunner tech support. Three guys later, I still got no net. Mark came close to figuring out the problem. Kudos! So yeah, they wanted to send a tech out and charge me 50$ for it. I'm all uh... no.
