Great Day =)
Today at work we had a little party for the parents in our classroom. They are all so antisocial and never talk to each other when they drop off or pick up at the same time, they just say hi and walk away. We wanted to give them a chance to meet, talk about their kids and get to know each other since their kids spend all day together with us. It was really fun, a great turnout, almost all of the parents came and talked for a good hour and a half! Really felt good, most of them thanked us for doing it because they really do want to know the other parents!
Also, I did an art project with the kids today. First real art project I've done since I've been there and now that I'm doing the lesson plans and stuff. It was fun, babies and painting is always hilarious! Anyway, one of the moms almost cried today when I handed her her daughter's art.. I guess it's the first time she's ever done an art project. She got really emotional and thought it was so amazing. Then she thanked me for always taking such good care of her daughter. So sweet. This is why I do what I do and why I love my job. Any time I am having a bad day, I try to remember moments like this one... and it's all worth it.
