Well, I know this happened a while ago, but I just got this LiveJournal thingy, so I thought I'd write about my greatest concert experience EVER!! (this is actually my recap that I posted in EvClub, so I didn't just write it...) =D
First of all, I would just like to say how great it was to meet all of you crazy Evfans up there! And, even though the weather SUCKED, there wasn't a time when I wasn't just having a blast talking to all of you...I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life! Man, we were getting loopy by the end of the day, haha
Well...for those of you who couldn't make it to the show, I'll recount my whole experience there, because it was AMAZING!!! First of all, besides getting to meet some cool Ev fans, while we were all congregated by the doors all afternoon, we got to hear Ev sound-checking!! They played Your Star, CMWYS, and Weight of the World all the way through, plus bits and pieces of a bunch of other songs, and it was soooo cool to get to hear Amy's amazing voice, and the band playing, without all of the crowd (and my) screaming and singing along
Then, once we were into the show, it kicked off with the Black Maria, who I thought was...alright...not my favorite band, but the energy seemed to be there, and they gave a performance, so all in all I thought they were OK. After that, Stone Sour came on, and I'm gonna just go ahead and be honest, and say that I'd never actually heard of Stone Sour until I saw that they were touring w/Ev, and the only song of theirs that I had heard before the show was "Through Glass," so as you might imagine, I was quite shocked when Corey Taylor came out and started screaming and saying "f*** this/are you guys f***ing ready for such and such" and on and on every few words...haha, but, even though I don't typically like that kind of music, I actually really really enjoyed those guys. They have a great band, Corey has an awesome sound/voice (not to mention he's really HOT, lol), and they had incredible stage presence, which just made the experience sooo much fun, and I think it really says a lot if a band can make you really get into their performance even thought you've never heard any of their stuff before, so props to you guys, you were awesome!!
And now...the best part of the show....EVANESCENCE!!! WOW...I honestly can't think of a way to describe them...Amy sounded GREAT, and the band was really involved in the performance, and I have only seen them one other time, and I thought they were good then, but this performance blew that other one OUT OF THE WATER!! It was incredible...and to make it even better, I could literally reach out and touch the stage, so at many points during the show Amy was prolly only like two feet away from me, and at one point she looked right at me when I was rocking out and then winked at me!! I really thought that each song was very well done, and played with a ton of heart and soul, and there were MAYBE two times throughout the entire thing where Amy made a couple of goofs, but during Good Enough, she hit a wrong key on accident, and was like "Ooops!" and then started laughing, it was hilarious! And the thing about that is...you know, nobody's perfect, and for her to sit and laugh at herself just makes me respect her even more! Richie was standing right in front of me throughout the whole show too, which was really cool...he's an awesome guy, and had a great personality, and at one point, after all of the bubbles had fallen during the Lithium set (soooo cool by the way), Richie handed Amy a towel to wipe the soap out of her hair, and then gave the towel to me!! Haha, it was so cool! I was totally caught off guard by it though, cuz Amy handed the towel back to him, and without even saying anything, he just threw it at me! Besides those couple things, and the fact that the band was OUTSTANDING, there was one other really funny part during the show, when John took off his guitar and ran up to the drum set and started banging on one of the cymbals!! Yes, in the middle of a song!!! Omg, it was soooooo funny! Then he ran back down and started playing again, and I looked up at him and laughed and gave him the rock on sign, and he smiled and nodded back at me, teehee
Finally, after the show was over
...one of the stage crew guys handed me a set list, and that pretty much topped off my night! Or so I thought...after the show we all went outside to wait by the buses to see fi the band came out, and we were standing out there in the FREEZING cold and snow for about two hours, and by that time pretty much everyone else had left, so we were starting to lose hope...but then, around 12:30ish I think it was, Amy and Richie came wandering outside!! Hehe, I was sooo excited! And, at their last show Richie was really strict about pictures and everything, and just made everyone get their autographs and leave, BUT, this time, he let everyone do autographs, and was like ok, now if you all want, you can get pics with her! YAAAAAAY!! So, not only did I get a towel, and a set list, but I also got an autograph from Amy, and a picture with her, AND a hug!!!! This was pretty much one of the most fun experience I have ever had in my life, I loved every single second of it, and although I was soaked and freezing by the end of it...I just left with a huge grin on my face
