What bill do you hate paying the most?
Comcast; there's no good alternative for internet, and their pricing structure is hideous if you don't also bundle internet with home phone and cable TV. Even with those features, it's a lot more than I want to pay each month for emergency home phone service and TV channels that I never watch.
Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
A pretty good Thai place that's 15 minutes away.
What do you really want to be doing right now?
Playing WoW
How many colleges did you attend?
Just the one
Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
I felt like wearing a polo-style short today.
What are your thoughts on gas prices?
WTF do they expect people to say? I [heart] high gas prices? It boggles my mind to see people frothing mad about an extra $100 a month on gas, but barely yawn when 1/3 of their paycheck disappears in taxes before they even see the money.
First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
I can sleep another 15 minutes...
Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Something WoW-related I'm sure.
Do you miss being a child?
Not really, I have a heavy independent streak, so I love being self-sufficient.
What errand/chore do you despise?
Going to the nearby Costco. It's always crowded and the hours are awful.
Get up early or sleep in?
HA! Sleep until I wake, tyvm.
Have you found real love yet?
I'd say so. :)
Favorite lunch meat?
Jerky
What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
This assumes I ever shop at Wal-Mart. Really, I only ever go there with regularity when I'm on business in the boondocks, and Walmart is the local grocery store.
Beach or lake?
Beach, I like the waves.
Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Certainly not; it gets difficult to create a society without some kind of culturally-recognized joining, in whatever form that takes. It covers an amazing breadth of potential pitfalls like property ownership, inheritance rights, child rearing and responsibilities, power of attorney (i.e. the ability to speak for someone when they cannot), social acceptance of coupling and pregnancy, care/provider obligations... a whole host of things that we generally take for granted.
Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
I've never seen DH, but I *loved* Sopranos.
What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Clint Eastwood or, if we're allowed to choose from the ranks of those who've passed on, Jeff Cooper.
Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Nothing major, light bumps here and there, a couple of dropped bikes, that's about all.
Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Yep, out in the quarry after a propane cannister went astray...
Ring tone?
Vibe; subtle and professional.
Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Out in the woods while camping? I don't know if that really qualifies as strange.
Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
The lost coast... a huge section of coastline in true northern California that's bypassed by the major freeways. No real development and no easy way to get there by car, just dirt trails and no tourists. Always wanted to take my dual sport up that way. Long drive from the bay area though.
Do you go to church?
Not really my thing. I'll go to please the family more than anything else. Got no chip on my shoulder about religion, though.
At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
The people you love are worth more than some mere job; I'd choose new career without even batting an eye.
How old are you?
27, in about 2 more months
Do you have a go to person?
I don't really understand the question.
Are you where you want to be in life?
No, but I'm on track. :)
Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
X-men, Pinky & the Brain (Animaniacs was okay, P&tB was the real reason to watch), Gargoyles
What about you do you think has changed the most?
I certainly didn't always wear black. There was even a time I owned blue jeans. :)
Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Certainly not, though they were quite good... especially the whole "lack of responsibility" aspect. But that may be nostalgia talking.
Are there times you still feel like a kid?
I play video games every night and occasionally eat cereal for dinner. I don't think much has changed. :)
Did you ever own troll dolls?
I think maybe someone gifted me with one, though I never bought one.
Did you have a pager?
Yeah, for the 5 minutes that they were useful before cell phones replaced them.
Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
Always someone's house, didn't really have a spot per se.
Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Quiet nerdy kid who didn't really get into any trouble? Sure thing.
Who do you think impacted your life the most?
Besides the obvious (parents), I would say J, who has shared almost every aspect of my life; Sam, who showed me the awesomeness that is goth; Jeremy, who convinced me to buy my first motorcycle; and Charlie, who mellowed my politics and taught me much about selflessness.
Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
Sadly no, I've never really had that kind of mentor figure.
Do you tell stories that start with “when I was your age”?
Only in jest right now, but someday, they'll be coming for real.
