Mom Update Again
So I go in last night (Dec 29th). The family is going to a wrestling event at the Verizon Wireless in Manchester, but I wanted to spend an hour or so with Mom before we go over. I go in her room and she's awake and alert. I told her everything that is going on with us and such and we have a nice chat; well I'm doing all the talking, she just nods or shakes her head. We're trying to find a way to communicate and I made an alphabet and point to the letters to see if I can get her to spell out what she wants to say. she's having a hard time with her fine motor skills, probably all the medication she's on. That didn't go over so well. An hour rolls by and I tell her I have to leave before the family has a tizzy fit about missing the event. Mom gets agitated and asks me to stay, so I stay a little longer. After a lot of questions it comes out that she has a feeling that she's going to die tonight. I ask her if she wants me to call Val my sister, she nods. Then I ask her if she wants me to call my Auntie Bobby and Kizzie (her sisters). She hesitates and than says no. Hmmmm..I think to myself...I think Mom is using a guilt trip. I tell her I have to go to the event 'cause Jeff can't ride herd on Keith and his friend himself. I stop at the nurse's station on my way out and relay the information to her and we both hope Mom is just pulling a guilt trip. This morning she's still with us though she was a bit agitated during the night. It's a good sign that she has her wits about her enough to try to manipulate me but dang I so want to poke her over that.
