2nd Night [video/action]

[Without any fuss at all, a small, nicely engraved sign appears outside of House 21. Translated, it reads: Little Bird Detective AgencyWho knows if Odin can even see him here, but orders are orders, so Loki will continue to seek out evil spirits living among humans. He'd been hoping to get home before this, but he can't ignore his job forever ( Read more... )

OH! Mine too!

And there were plays and theater, and video games and arcades, and tons of vehicles to race, helicopters to fly, museums to visit -- all sorts of great stuff!

[... What an action-packed person.]

Not exactly the types of things you can do over here, are they?

[Extremely so. Don't even get her started on all the travel and sports.]

Exactly! [Huffs.] It's such a pain. They don't even have dance clubs or something fun like that. Or waterslides. And no one wants to make them because apparently that's too frivolous or something. [You can just HEAR the pout in her voice.]

[Just listening to these activities is making him tired.]

I don't know about the waterslide, but you could probably set up a dance club if you wanted to. Though the people here don't seem like the types to party.

[And she hasn't even mentioned the windsurfing, sky diving, and hang gliding she does there in Luceti yet!]

Practically no one here cares about dancing. And those that care about music aren't even into rock. This place is so strange like that. [Sigh, sigh, pout.]

[The strangest thing here is probably you.]

There's probably something about being caged that makes people hesitant to enjoy themselves. It's dangerous to enjoy prison too much, after all.

[Probably. Although she can't do superpowers so who knows.]

Che. If we're caged, all the more reason to defy them. Haven't they ever seen Jailhouse Rock? Or at least heard it?

... Jailhouse Rock? [He's no good with newfangled media.]

[Darn, he got her hopes up with the tv mentions.]

You know, Elvis Presley, "Everybody in the cell block was dancing to that jailhouse rock~"?

[And if he doesn't stop her relatively quickly, she'll even try to sing it for him. She's got a good voice, but hers is meant for jazz, not singing male American old school rock'n'roll. Also, she might be dancing. She did mention she does that.]

A... Ah...

[He watches her start jamming out with a slightly stupefied look. Weren't they just having a conversation?!]

Why is there a band allowed to play in jail...?

Because it's better for the wardens than them breaking out or starting fights and shivving each other.

You have a point. I'd be worried about such carefree wardens, though.

I think it's supposed to be New York. Or Alcatrez. Either way they've got bigger worries.

Besides, our so-called captors are even more laissez faire than that.

Yes, but that's only because they know we can't "shiv" them from in here.

There's truth in your analogy, though. The people kept here would be much more restless if they weren't allowed to live in relative comfort. At the same time, I wonder if it would be playing into the Malnosso's hands to enjoy life here and not spend more time rebelling.

Rebel where? I've tried. You can still keep on plotting and planning while enjoying yourself.

Or at least, I can.

You do seem a very special sort, miss.

Normally, I'd say civil disobedience is the closest thing we have to a weapon, but it doesn't seem your style.
