Another year over, a new one just begun

Happy New Year!
So the year 2004 was overall a pretty good year and I can't complain. I figured i should do a year in review, or attempt to remember the events that shaped my year. I know it's a day late, but i have been busy working--so there

The Good

*In January, I found out that the current news editor of the Battalion quit and I was asked to take her place. The semester was the best semester I had at The Batt. I had a great staff and of course had a great assistant. I was sad to see it all go.
*All The Batt outings to Northgate.
*Receiving Most Valubale Editor and Desk at The Batt banquet.
*Also in January, the Super Bowl came to town and my other team, The Patriots won for the second time in three years.
*In May, I finally completed college. I became a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Journalism--WHOOP! :-)
*In June, I started freelancing for the Houston Chronicle.I continued that throughout the summer.
*In July, the Houston Astros started an unbelievable winning streak that eventually took them to the National League Division Series against the Cards. Also that month, the city was host to the All-Star game and Lance Berkman was one of the finalists in the Home Run Derby. I also got to see Roger Clemens pitch; too bad he ended up losing to the Brewers.
*In August,I was offered a job at the Bryan-College Station Eagle newspaper as the police reporter. I accepted and have been with them four months now.
*Spent Thanksgivng with the family in San Antonio and had a great time.
* I became the ultimate Road Warrior!
*Realizing that I am a good person and i have a lot to offer someone, both as a friend and a girlfriend. *Realizing that being single is not that bad once you get used it. (Although I don't wanna be single too long ;-) )
*Moving into my own (cute) apartment and finally realizing I am on my own.
* I got a new car!!! It is a 2004 Santa Fe and it rox the cash bar! :-)
*In December, my grandparents, whom I had not seen in three years, were able to make it here for Christmas. It was one of the best ones i had in a while.

The Bad

*Throughout the summer, I went on numerous job interviews with local newspapers and was turned down by every single one.
*Had to live at home all summer trying to find job.
*The Astros lost in game 7 of the division, series even with Clemens on the mound.
*The Aggies, who had rebounded from a 4-7 2003 season to a 7-4 2004 season, were invited to the SBC Cotton Bowl, only to be routed by Tennessee in front a crowd of mostly maroon and white.(yeah i know this was technically 2005...)
*Met Chad from Corpus and dated a brief time, until he decided that the distance was not working and said we needed to just be friends. I continued to get screwed by guys, and no, not literally :-P
*Had my ups and downs with my job.
*Tried to learn the guitar and failed.
*Leaving behind all the fun college offered and realizing that the real world comes with no vacations and days off that i was used to.

The Ugly

*Broke up with my boyfriend Marc of five years. Many other issues stemming from this evolved.

I know I probably left out somethings, but that is all i can think of now at almost 1 a.m. I will add some if i think of any more.
Here's wishing everyone a great 2005!
