It has been so long since I have actually done this. I honestly don't even know where to begin, but that has never stopped me before.
The summer started off a bit crazy, but that was me, being me. I got offered Senior Guard in Town Park and I was so excited about that, it meant I would be working with a bunch of people I knew over the winter and I was so excited. A few days later I got a call from someone else telling me that they were my Captain and I flipped, classic Rebecca style. It worked out it the end. I got bumped to Lieutenant in Levittown. The first few weeks were rocky, with me locking my keys in the office, choice words from a superior and a minor meltdown that was fixed by Lozzi, once again. After those minor speed bumps, my summer went really smoothly. Sluka was a big help and really patient in the beginning of the summer when I would call him six times a day and ask him things, but I got better and less annoying to him. My senior guard was great, and I'm so happy she got put on the Echo list for the winter. My crew was awesome, no drama, for the most part. I worked with a great group of people and I could not have asked for a better first crew for me. Of course I visited Vets, a lot. It wasn't the same as last summer, with so many people gone, but important people were still there so I visited.
I didn't spend as much time with my home friends as I would have liked to this summer. It seems like I never do, which sucks. I feel like I saw Stephanie a lot this summer though. Maybe because we went to the Goo Goo Dolls concert together. Which was amazing. AMAZING. I'm also a little bias because I love them, but they were still AMAZING. I also went to the John Mayer concert with Sara and Cristin, which was great. I am kind of mad that I recorded some of the songs on my phone and then a week later my phone decided to delete the songs. Bastard phone.
That brings us to the beginning of school I think. I'm doing echo winter again, which is great, but there are a lot of different people and some of my favorites from last year didn't make it onto the list. Added bonus for Echo...I'm in the process of taking the LGTI class (Lifeguard Training Instructor) so that I can teach the Lifeguard Training classes. Right now the class has been put on hold, but hopefully it will come back soon. I've been wanting to take this class for a few years now and I really hope that I get to complete it so I can teach.
I am now living at home, but it feels like I live in my car. Not that I have far to drive, but I feel like I'm always going back and forth. I only have class 3 days a week, which is great, but between all the time I'm spending at the Library, classes and my few echo shifts, I feel like I'm always in this area as apposed to being in East Meadow. I guess that's the life of the commuter. My classes are okay. My psych class is boring, but should I have expected a 2 1/2 hour class to be exciting? I thought not. I don't like one of my English classes, not because of the subject, but the teacher said something disrespectful to a student and I was really turned off by it. I kind of wanted to walk out, but there was 10 minutes left in class, so I figured I sat through most of it, why not finish it off. My education class seems okay so far. Nothing interesting going on there. I love one of my English classes (shocker, I know). It's a Greek Mythology class (win) that I'm taking with Geena (double win) with a great teacher that Geena had already and I really like him (triple win). So if nothing else for the semester I will love that class.
I think you're mostly caught up on my extremely exciting life (HA). Until we meet again.
That's my update...
